River Island vinyl mac

2019 is a whole new beginning for me. I'm not talking new-year-new-me-I'm-off-to-Sweaty-Betty-to-buy-activewear-and-become-a-fitness-goddess new beginning, but a new job instead. Great news - yes. Nerve wracking - sure. Anxiety-inducing - definitely.

Many of us show off our lives on social media as if they're perfect, but if you've ever read my blog before you'll know that isn't the case for me. As strange as it sounds, I prefer being open and honest about my worries. So let me tell you, the change has freaked me out no end. It's such a great job and I'm super excited to be there, but that hasn't stopped me worrying that I won't be good enough, or getting anxiety about sleeping every night because I want to be on my best form. I knew the change would be hard on me, simply because I've always found change hard. The fact it's January hasn't helped either as I get really miserable in winter.

Despite my anxiety and fears, I'm doing what I can to keep my head above water. I'm putting myself first rather than making plans I don't even want to make, I'm doing everything I can to make sure I sleep better, I'm exercising enough to keep my mental health in check, and I'm doing whatever makes me feel confident.

One thing that never fails to cheer me up when I'm feeling down is fashion. You might think that's superficial, but if my outfit feels good, I feel good. That's exactly what this look did for me. I'm in love with this River Island vinyl mac, although I'm not gonna lie - I was nervous to wear something that feels so 'out there,' but I have a sneaky feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of these macs soon.
My new job requires me to be on my feet all the time so it's not every day I can wearing heels, but for a special occasion slash casual weekend these tan Topshop boots are dreamy. Obvs I'm layering too, so a white shirt and jumper combo seemed like the perfect choice. These trousers have been in my wardrobe for over a year now, but as you'll have read in my last post I'm trying to show off the clothes I already know and love rather than flaunting my privilege and making you feel bad for not buying a new outfit every week when you look at my blog. I hope you like the outfit as much as I do!

'Till next time,

Daisy xox
