Fitness Meets Fashion: Your guide to stylish and affordable sportswear

January. We greet it with sheer determination to get fit so that by the time summer hits we're not (as) terrified to shed our thick black tights and bare our pale legs. But as the month draws to a close, we struggle to remember why we ever chose to wake up at the crack of dawn to draw in the day with a variety of sweaty characters down at the local leisure centre. So I'm here to give you that motivation back in the shape of some super sassy gym kit!

Good sportswear can do wonders for your gym regime. If you're wearing flattering clothes, you'll relish wearing them and feel far more confident than you do in your five-year-old pair of trackies. And the good news is that it doesn't have to cost a fortune to get kitted up. Here are some of my top picks to get you moving...

Best for a bargain
Missguided Active
Sassy? Tick. Wearable? Yup. Affordable? You betcha. Missguided changed the lives of gym gals everywhere when they decided to launch their Active range. From jazzy sports bras, flattering yoga tops and thigh-slimming leggings, they've got everything you need to get fit and look good while doing it.

(From L to R, Burgundy yoga top, £14, Black bra, £12, Patterned leggings, £16. Look out for deals and offers to pick up a bargain!)

Easiest to wear
New Look Sport

New Look is my go-to for any basics, whether that's jeans, jumpers or sportswear. They never let me down! Their Sport range has slogan tees aplenty, but there are simple and classic pieces too.

(Grey long-sleeved top, £15.99, Matching leggings, £17.99, Slogan tank top, £8.99, On the run crop top, £9.99, Matching leggings, £17.99, Black trainers, £22.99)

Simple but classic
Ellesse
If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know I have a bit of a penchant for nineties fashion - so obviously I had to include Ellesse in the round-up. Slightly more pricey than some of the other brands, but good quality, simple and classic.

(Navy hoodie, £35, Sports bra, £20, Logo leggings, £20)

Best for statement pieces
Adidas
Who doesn't love adidas? Their pieces are so wearable and on-trend, you can wear them wherever you please! I'm obsessing over this baroque jacket (middle) so despite the price tag, I had to include it.

(Black logo tee, £24.50, Baroque bomber jacket, £120, Feather logo tee, £25)

Most stylish
H&M

Who knew sportswear could be so chic? If you're looking to impress your yoga teacher, hit up the high street classic for minimal and stylish pieces.(Mesh sports top, £12.99, Yoga top with built-in sports bra, £19.99, Monochrome running jacket, £29.99)

  2. This will help you to relax all of the muscles in your body, so that you are prepared for the next time you go to the gym. Yoga and meditation are great things to do on your off day. Going Here
